Members

The General Education Council is composed of faculty from across the University, representing each of the Schools (except the Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering) and each of the categories and markers within the General Education curriculum. Council members are appointed by the Provost on the recommendation of the Deans of the various Schools. The Director of the Office of Assessment and Accreditation and a representative from the University Libraries are permanent ex-officio members of the Council; other ex-officio members are appointed by the Provost as needed. The Writing Intensive and Speaking Intensive Committees are appointed by the Chair of the Council in consultation with faculty representatives.
