DESCRIPTION:This Workshop will focus on alternative inputs for evaluating teaching effectiveness (e.g.\, student work products\, course reviews\, mid-semester student feedback\, etc.). Using national models created by decades-long\, multi-institutional studies on the evaluation of teaching and learning\, this workshop will assist in the development of unit-level processes as part of the UNCG Teaching Effectiveness Policy . The UNCG Teaching Effectiveness Policy is pending final approval by the UNC System\, and was developed by an institutional work group in response to the UNC System Teaching Effectiveness Policy (400.3.1) and Regulation on Teaching Effectiveness(400.3.1.1[R]). The UNC System policy and regulation require all campus policies to include three inputs for measuring teaching effectiveness: course evaluations\, peer review\, and self-evaluations. The UNCG Policy mirrors the UNC System documents and requires that individual academic units develop procedures for meeting the minimum requirements.

DESCRIPTION:Faculty Workshop: “Avoiding Faculty Burnout: The Weekly Plan to Prioritize\, Build & Maintain Momentum\, and Experience True Work-Life Balance“: In conjunction with NCFDD\, we are hosting a 2-hour virtual workshop on Thursday\, February 15 from 10am to 12pm to help faculty develop strategies for prioritizing and building momentum for their research and creative activities while maintaining work-life balance along the way. If interested\, please register using this link. \nThis workshop will be virtual and may be attended from anywhere; however\, in the spirit of community\, we would also like to offer a “watch party” where faculty may gather to watch the viewing together.
