TIO is housed within the University Teaching and Learning Commons located at 1100 West Market St on the first floor. You may be asking – why would I come to 1100 W Market? Well, 1100 W Market is set-up just for faculty and staff to explore, develop and grow in their teaching practice.
And – we have excellent parking, coffee and snacks!
1100 West Market St was designed for meeting and gathering. We have several small meeting and gathering spaces geared for collaboration.
Conference Room 102
The West Market Conference room seats 13 at a mix of low and counter height tables. The room has a full digital set up including a meeting owl and teleconferencing equipment, wall to wall dry erase boards, and a digital jam board. The space is ideal for your brainstorming needs, department retreats, writing groups, and more. (Mini Fridge, microwave and Keurig are available in the space.)
Consulting Room 137
The 1100 W Market St Consulting room seats six to seven comfortably on couches and over-sized chairs. The room features an interactive dry erase/projection screen, a meeting owl for teleconference needs, lap boards for creating a comfortable working space. The space is ideal for small group brainstorming, retreats, meetings, writing groups and more. (Easy access to a refrigerator, microwave and Keurig.)
Library Open Space
The Jane D Harris Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Library not only houses an amazing selection of books, but also a great collaborative space. The library has mixed seating options for eight, a dry erase board for brainstorming, and computer projection set up. The space is an open break out space – great for impromptu brainstorming, shorter meetings, and lunch! (Easy access to a refrigerator, microwave and Keurig.)
You can reserve these spaces by contacting the UTLC at email@example.com.
In 2018, the UTLC moved to 1100 W Market St and was joined by the ITS: Learning Technology team. This proximity has provided faculty and instructors with a one-stop shop for teaching support. When you come to 1100 W Market St, you will encounter a team focused on pedagogy through execution and delivery.
The Jane D. Harris Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) Library features a large collection of books and resources for supporting teaching and learning on campus. The collection is open for browsing or for check-out. Books range from common best practices for all courses to specialized support for disciplines. Stop by and “check-out” all the resources we have to offer.
