This week’s teaching tips feature information on supporting students and colleagues during the Jewish High Holiday Season:
The Jewish High Holiday Season has begun, consisting of several distinct holidays including Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Simchat Torah, and more. Former Assistant Director of NC Hillel Link and UNCG Religious Life Chair, Vicki Cathcart, created an excellent resource (see button below) of teaching tips to support students during this time.
In particular, work is forbidden beginning sundown the prior evening of each high holiday. Please be flexible and attempt to not schedule quizzes, large projects, and exams in these time periods if possible (especially during Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur).
